A conceptual initiative developed by founder Roger Urbaniak, Solid High Ground is focused on designing and constructing structurally sound structures in tsunami-hazard zones along the Washington coast.

The Vision

Building affordable, multi-purpose structures that are engineered to withstand a tsunami wave of up to 30 feet, following a 9.0 magnitude earthquake.

Creating structures are intended to serve everyday community and residential needs - while also functioning as critical life-saving infrastructure in the event of a major tsunami.

Most importantly, these buildings must be constructed before a tsunami occurs, providing elevated refuge and resilience in areas where evacuation time may be limited.

Our Mission

We believe that Good Samaritan legislation needs to enacted to protect the communities willing to build structure capable of saving lives under conditions where probable tsunami generated wave height might not exceed 30 feet.

We also believe that grant funding should be made available to communities to help accomplish this life saving effort.
